Charles E. Iliff

After serving in the United States Army from 1963 to 1966, Mr. Iliff was discharged from active duty as a First Lieutenant. He attended the University of Virginia School of Law, graduating in 1969 after serving on the Editorial Board of the Virginia Law Review and being selected to the Order of the Coif.

Mr. Iliff has been practicing in the area of civil litigation since admission to the Maryland Bar in December 1969. His practice has involved cases in the areas of professional negligence in health care, dental care, law and accounting. products liability including automobiles, household and recreational products, pharmaceuticals, boats, aircraft and aircraft components, as well as airline crash liability, automobile and aircraft negligence, business disputes and insurance litigation.

Mr. Iliff has held a Private Pilot's License since 1963, and is a member of the Lawyer Pilot's Bar Association, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and the Experimental Aircraft Association. He has experience in maritime litigation supplemented by his own experience with sail and power boats beginning in early childhood.

In 2003, Governor Ehrlich appointed Mr. Iliff Chairman of the Trial Courts Judicial Nominating Commission for Anne Arundel County, a position he held until 2007. The Commission screened and interviewed applicants and recommended qualified potential judges to the Governor for appointment to the District and Circuit Courts. Mr. Iliff is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, has been listed in Best Lawyers in America, Maryland Super Lawyers, and has been rated AV by Martindale Hubbell.
